Why this must be read:
As most of you know (or can guess), Krycek is my favorite character. And while my favorite pairing might be Mulder/Krycek, I basically love anything involving Krycek as long as it is well told.
Pinned Butterflies is a beautiful story of adolescence and of second meetings. It gives a unique (and Russian), albeit short, background on Krycek and how the relationship between these two seeming adversaries evolved.
In addition, it gives us an inner dialouge into Marita who is not simply cold and perfect, but striving for something more, living under her father's shadow, and willing to do whatever it takes.
This story is a great character-study and a sad, lovely read.
