Okay, now that you've all had a chance to look at the pairing and be thoroughly squicked, let me explain. This story is good: as in great.

This fic is one of the most well-done portrayals of male friendship I've seen in this fandom. Utterly believable (and I for one certainly never thought believable Book/Jayne was possible), it's a series of codas illuminating the characters's feelings and reactions to "Jaynestown," "Ariel" and "War Stories." It's a wonderful exploration of the ways in which Book and Jayne's unique friendship could skim the edges of dependence and longing.
