Why this must be read: Oh, those lies. This starts out as a happy enough story with Clark and Lex being together. But there are things they don't say to each other, truths they don't tell, and that proves to be their downfall. Maybe Clark shouldn't have to say it, but Lex needs him to, and that changes everything. It's painful and bitter and a little bit sad, but you can understand how Lex feels. The title, which caught my attention in the first place, really speaks to the heart of this story. Sometimes saying the words is everything.
After that, Lex stopped saying ‘I love you’. Clark would bury his face in the crook of Lex’s neck, breathe short hot pants against Lex’s skin. Moan and strain against Lex’s body and tell Lex more and harder and faster. Groan that he loved Lex, never would leave Lex, and sloppily lick his way into Lex’s mouth, smiling the whole time.
