Why this must be read: Today we recieved the sad news that after six years, the Secret Santa Popslash exchange Don We Now Our Gay Apparel is coming to a close. This was a major event in Popslash for it's entire run, with many people out of the fandom coming back every year to write just one more story. There's already another exchange in the works, but DWNOGA was special.
This story is from last year's challenge, and Dizmo took an interesting approach. She wrote *NSync as Fall Out Boy, imagining if they were an up and coming punk/pop band putting out their cd's now, in today's internet saturated enviroment. The entire story is told in internet news clips, blog chats, ect. It does an excellent job of marrying the *NSync characters with the "no fourth wall" experience of bandslash. Plus, it's funny.
Blind Item in New York Post
And what two members of an emerging punk group were spotted getting a bit hot and heavy in the back of an Orlando club? Definitely not the two that are practically making out on stage. There's for show and then there's for real. And when the drummer and rhythm guitarist are going at it in a club, it's probably for real
