SMALL FANDOM MONTH

I think we have enough interest to justify a reprise of December Small Fandom Month this year. :) We'd love to have 20-25 small/miscellaneous fandoms represented, with precedence going first to fandoms that haven't ever been featured on crack_van, followed by small fandoms that have been featured only a handful of times, followed by retired full-time fandoms that have been relegated to small fandom status. Make sense? Also, there are still a ton of great big fandoms that have never been represented here, and those would fall into the first category.

We do ask that if you are volunteering to rec a fandom for which we do not already have an overview, that you agree to post one. Overviews should include pictures and a brief description of main characters, story arcs, and a list of canon and fanon resources & archives. If lack of image webspace has prevented anyone from volunteering for an overview, I also have plenty.

So please comment below if you have interest in reccing any of the above, and we'll just see how it shakes out, mmkay?

Hiya. I know I always end up offering freaky fandoms for December's small fandom fest, and this year I was tossing up between a couple, but the one I really want to do is songvids.

I know you already allow one songvid per rec set each month, but there are a heap of songvids that can't be recced under that system (eg. multifandom songvids, which don't "belong" to any one fandom).

I have songvid recs in over 40 fandoms, and I could pretty easily put together a set which showcases:

--two weeks of small fandom songvids, which are otherwise unlikely to be recced on the van (such as Metropolis, The Incredibles, Apocalypse Now, V for Vendetta, The Muppets, Danger Mouse, Get Smart, etc)

--a week of constructed reality songvids (vids which use multiple sources to tell a non-canon story)

--a week of multifandom songvids (which have a mix of sources, and therefore can't be recced in a specific fandom rec set).

I know this is a bit outside your usual thing, but I'm good to go on any combination of these, or I'm open to negotiating a different system if that suits you better.
