Subject by D.M. Wyatt NC-17 (for noncon and extreme torture)
Fandom: SMALLVILLE
Pairing: Clark/OMC, Clark/OFC, Clark/Lana, Clark/Lex
Author on LJ/Author's Website:

Why this must be read:
There's a whole genre in the Smallville fandom devoted to Torturing Clark or to having Clark locked in a lab and this fic, a novel really, looks at the horror in that scenario in unrelenting detail. However, it's Clark's spirit and perseverance against such harsh odds that really stand out and make the cliche fic indelible. The more they push, the more Clark struggles to survive and one can see the hope intrinsic in his nature that, in a more normal timeline, would have made him Superman. However, this is assuredly not a fic for the faint of heart. The worst scenarios you can happen and then some, but it's a harrowing journey worth taking.
Excerpt:
"As for owning you: actually, yes we do. According to an international treaty signed back in the 1950's anything of extraterrestrial origin that comes to Earth is the property of the jurisdiction it lands in. And I do mean anything, including you. Since you landed in Kansas, that treaty makes you United States Government property. The agency that arranged your adoption was a sham and you know it. Your adoption was illegal in addition to being amoral."
The Man all but growled as he sneered at Clark. "The Kents taking in an abomination like you kept them from giving a human child a happy home. You don't deserve that happy life that you stole away from a human boy or girl. You're a thing, not a person, and that treaty gives ownership of you to the people of this fair country."
Clark glared at him, knowing he shouldn't speak.
"But it's not like any government that signed that treaty would ever admit it existed. That would mean they would have to admit to their citizens that little green men were real. That wouldn't do, now would it? But, that shouldn't concern you. You need to only be concerned about being a good little lab rat since you're going to be here for the foreseeable future."
