The Blue Figurine by Courtney Grey (PG)
Fandom: THE PROFESSIONALS
Pairing: Bodie/Doyle
Author on LJ: N/A
Author Website: N/A
Why this must be read: This story is one of my favourite. It explores the possibilities of the what-if and the careful what you wish for concepts in the most striking way. What would happen if one or the other of the Lads wished they have never met before? So many possibilities...:) There is quite a lot of angst in this story but also a delicate touch that I love.

I found this fic very disturbing and eerie in parts - your mind kind of twists around the concept. But it was very well done (and ultimately hopeful, I thought). I sometimes long for a sequel or a companion piece from Bodie's POV.
Re:
And I couldn't do it without precious help (you know who you are) - pity that so few Pros stories are on line. We need to write more/pimp more/encourage writers to give permission :)
Yes, it is eerie and disturbing - that's probably why I love it so much - I long for a sequel or Bodie's pov, too. I agree that it is hopeful, though, or at least that's how I want to think *g* ...and what about a soulless, desperate Bodie? sigh...:) Loved him in this story :)
Yai for Pros love!
Re:
I actually just posted a little rant in my own LJ about how sad I am not to see a more active online Pros fandom, and more enthusiasm about crack_van. I'd volunteer do it myself, but I just haven't read enough to feel qualified. I am working on a Pros section to my own website (which is sort of a compilation of rec sites, archives, etc. etc. - a resource rather than a source) - but I haven't quite worked out the best way to do it, since Pros is a different type of fandom from my others, so it might take a while.
Anyway, I'm babbling. As you say, yay for Pros love, and thanks for doing this!!
Re:
*hugs*
Well, Pros is a different fandom from most, yes. It is still mostly a zine-based fandom, which means stories take longer to be published, it has almost 30 years of fans interactions under his belt with all the pros and cons of it... I think we can drool with the best of them, but the shiny factor is not a predominant, is it?
it's a quiet corner of the world, though and I adore the Lads :)
I'm looking forward to see your Pros webspace, you know :) we can add the link to the Pros intro here when is ready, yes? Any help that I can give, just ask, I'll do my best.
And feel free to blabber Pros at me anytime *g*
