As a respite after yesterday's rec, I now would like to take you on a journey to the lighter side of the fandom. I really couldn't mention the strangest OTP in the fandom in the overview without reccing at least one fic that features it, could I? Here,

strangeumbrella does a stunning job of distilling all of Sam's 'mad' moments into a fic about one man and his love for modern technology. This fic is hysterically funny and at the same time endearing, an absolute must-read!

"Sam." She's half-laughing. "Sam, you can't have a phone that's not attached to a cord. It wouldn't work. What would – what would your voice being going through?"

"The air!" Sam's arms flail slightly, as if this might help her grasp the concept of where, exactly, the air is.

"And anyway – what's the point? Why would you want another way of talking to people when you're walking around? We've got radios on patrol."

"Oh, Annie." That grin, that grin she sees so rarely, where his eyes shine, and his teeth part slightly, and it looks like he's trying to split his face in two, presumably because one face simply cannot contain the sheer amount of joy he's attempting to express.
