Why this *must* be read: Among all the -mostly false- accusations against Doughtie, the one of being a sorcerer, able to conjure storms is one of the most surprising ones. What if he really *had* this power? It's the premise of the fic. Luckily Doughtie has not been executed, only whipped (probably). Now comes the moment when Drake's small fleet has to face the terrible tempests of the Magellan Straights.
It's a very hot fic, and very clever. And you'll find an originality: it's rare enough that such a hot fic leaves one of the characters unsatisfied! The sex is quite... passionate.
He took the chalk and swiftly inscribed a circle encompassing the table. He then sat in the opposite chair and began to trace figures onto the paper, his eyes distant and unfocused, a half-spoken stream of barbarous names issuing from his lips. In the dim light of the lamp, his movements partook of the quality of dream, and Drake watched entranced by this exotic creature that seemed so little like the man he knew in daylight. So fascinated was he that it was not until Doughty stooped to the floor to remove the chalk tracings with the washcloth that Drake noticed the sea had calmed considerably.
