Why this must be read:
Well, this is it. The last one. I've had such a good time taking y'all through my favourite fandom and showing you the glistening jewels that are hidden there. I hope that you've had as good a time as I have! And a very happy New Year to you all. I also want to say a heartfelt thanks to all of you who followed my fic recommendations and commented on the original stories.
For my final recommendation, I'm going to end where I began. Loz is one of the longest posting fic writers in the fandom and she has a flair for in-character writing and amazing turns of phrase. This one is no different. It is set after the end of the second series and I should warn for dark themes and coarse language.
With beautiful imagery, Loz takes Sam through something he should've done in series, namely learn from his mistakes. Sam goes through the same actions again and again until he gets them right. Only then can he take his reward.
This is a gorgeous, gorgeous piece; one that is in turn thought provoking, horrifying and sad. But one that also contains great hope for the future.
