This is a continuation of anjenue's series which started with Sasuga Tezuka. This is the story of Tezuka's outing in front of the Japanese middle-school tennis elite and how he manages to carry it off with dignity and applomb. The writer never pulls the two boys out of character. Kite remains a scoundrel and Tezuka stays honourable, but it is interesting to see how their positions reverse and Kite is left bereft at the end of his dirty trick. The writer is also very skilled at showing the effects of psychological manipulation on mobs and how good leadership deflects the worst impulses. Atobe's humour at the end is priceless.

Thanks so much for your Prince of Tennis recs this month. I had a lot of fun reading them and it's a fandom I've always been slightly intimidated by (lots of characters, lots of fic...). Thank you for sharing!

I'm so pleased you enjoyed them. Thanks for letting me know. It was my great pleasure and I was quite intimidated to suggest possibilities as well, because I'm active in such a small part of the fandom. There are so many other communities and writers I haven't even begun to search out.

I know what you mean about the number of characters in the series. That was daunting. It does leave lots of room for the imagination though.
