This is the story that did it for me when I discovered fanfic. This is the first one I came across that convinced that good writing was possible, that writing about 70s tv characters could be entertaining, and funny and emotional, and that the idea of Starsky and Hutch (!!) cozying up together could be plausible and even inevitable. She called this babyslash back then, and it was exactly what I need to ease me into the new wonderful world of slash.

Babyslash or intense gen, whatever it is it's truly wonderful. I love this story to bits, it's a perfect example of the writer's immense talent for distilling the love and pain and rivalry at the emotional heart of S and H.

I love the image of Starsky "creeping" on the mattress.

And I smile when I read about Hutch's back, especially when it loves "instantly and without reservation."
