Why this must be read: There is an elegance to this story that seduces and mesmerizes a reader and of all the possible dirty! bad! and wrong! combinations in SV, this one is so close to canon it is scary. Jason was ultimately a puppet, and this character study makes it plain in a very dark and unsettling way just who was pulling his strings. And that last line? Simply brilliant. Poor Jason. He never had a chance.
