Why this must be read:

This is a character study of Leia Organa Solo and EU character Mara Jade Skywalker. Mara and Leia have some sister-in-law bonding time, tentative and revealing, while sitting on a lawn watching Luke tutor his young charges in the ways of the Force. I liked this fic a lot, mainly for the calm setting and the subtle depictions of Leia, a public servant to a huge political body, and Mara, caught up in being a new wife as well as a recent convert to the Light side which her husband serves. Luke is the main subject of their discussion, but along the way, the issues of having children (or not) and whether Leia desires to train as a Jedi (or not) come up, too. There is a fine Leia-as-watchful-mother moment in the beginning, and a precocious young Anakin Solo.
