Short-short stories should have some reason to be short. The contents should fit the form. They should be vivid, expansive, and the best usually end with a punch. Fanfic lends itself brilliantly to short-short works, as we already know so much about the characters and their situations and lives before reading. The stories and the reader-writer connection operate within a rich context. When done loosely or poorly they can be annoying and unsatisfying. When done well, they stick in the mind. She would finally be safe, and they could fight together. Her heartbeat increased and she felt a surge of pure adrenalin fight its way through her body. Together they could not be stopped.
