Why this must be read:

I wrote this in my original comment about this story: "The thing I love about your writing is how real it is, and how I can be lost in that realness as I travel through the fic, and suddenly you'll write a line like that and I will have to stop and force myself to remember how to breathe" and while that is undoubtedly true about all of soda_and_cape 's stories, it is particularly true about this one.

This story is fantastic because it gets the Captain America/Bucky vibes that are so present, understands the Batman/Robin vibes that are equally present, and shows how very different they are from one another. And from that spot, their similarities just look all the more obvious.

Bucky nods. “And I could gaze deep into your eyes and call you Cap and say ‘gee’ and ‘gosh,’ but that won’t work, will it?”

Jason says softly, “And you could dress me in the Robin suit and hold me down and call me a good soldier. But that wouldn’t work either.”
