Battlestar Galactica/Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles (M)

Why this must be read:
As far as I’m concerned, there are few shows more appropriate to be crossed with each other than Battlestar Galactica and Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles, dealing as they both do with machines bringing about an apocalypse, the attempted destruction of the human race. And this fic illustrates that beautifully. Through the points of view mainly of Kara Thrace and Derek Reese, this fic explores what might happen if the Colonial Fleet finally finds Earth, but an Earth ravaged by Skynet, with a small human population fighting for survival against human-looking machines.
The author didn’t intend for this to be such an awesome tie-in with BSG’s mid-season cliff-hanger, but that just makes this fic that much more worth the read. Her descriptions are nothing short of chilling, her characterization is wonderful, particularly that of Kara, and I swear, after watching the end of Revelations, and having read this fic more than once, I totally expected Skynet’s HKs to rise over the horizon and start firing on Bill and Laura and all the others.
