Why this must be read:
Stories where the plot is just an excuse to hook two characters up ("clichefics") get little respect in the fanfic world, which is odd. The majority of fanfics include pairings and one of the most popular movie genres of all time, the romantic comedy, is all about throwing two people together in a situation that forces them to fall in love. Shipfic and clichefic would seem to go together like Tam and pretty.
Especially when the fic is achingly angsty and full of great dialogue and description like this one is. This fic is as emotionally smutty as it is sexually, and turns the cliche just enough on its head to be about the morning after rather than the during.
