Why this must be read: This is one of my favourite Sam/Gene stories. I love the progression, I love the voices. taurenova's Gene is totally spot on and her voices all round are fantastic. The thing I love about this story, and in fact, all of taurenova's Sam/Gene stories, is that she writes about the difficulty the characters have connecting as well as the fantastic connection and dynamic they have.


Gene has the horrible feeling that he's fighting a losing battle with himself – but he doesn't know what he's fighting for and what he's fighting against.

Gene shakes his head to clear it of unwanted thoughts.
