Welcome to the Neighborhood by Ambler (PG)
Fandom: POPSLASH
Pairing: GSF
Length: 2,578
Author on LJ: not that I know of
Author Website: none
Why this must be read: Joey moves into an overly friendly neighbourhood, and GSF-y wackiness ensues. This story is full of cliches and character stereotypes, but in that fun, over-the-top, self-conscious way. The perfect story for when you need something fun and light to quickly make you smile.
Lance was by far the sanest out of Joey’s new neighbors. He wondered if this had something to do with Lance being a lawyer. But, then, if one went by profession, Chris should also be sane, as it was his job ‘to help those tottering on the edges of insanity.’ Those were Chris’s words.
JC and Justin (in addition to being JC and Justin to pretty much everyone, including their girlfriends) had the tendency to space out and miss whole chunks of conversation. JC was definitely worse, but if Justin was supposed to be the one who was the tie to reality, they were in trouble. Then, of course, there was the way that their hands would slip below the other’s waist when they gave each other a hug. And they were apparently huggy people. They both hugged Lance the same way, leaving Joey to wonder what Lance’s boyfriend thought.
Chris liked slapping them all on the butt. Joey almost felt left out. He wasn’t jealous, of course, just wanted to be accepted fully into the neighborhood. That’s all.
