Caitlin's Memory by Red3 (T)
Fandom: BOONDOCK SAINTS
Pairing: None. Gen.
Author on LJ: Unknown
Author Website: FF.NET
Why this must be read: The explosive ending of the movie was just the first step for the MacManus Saints, but for other people in the courtroom, it represented endings and beginnings of different sorts.
This fic is from the POV of the red haired woman whom Il Duce gently tells, "you must watch, it’ll all be over soon.” Who was she? Why was she there? This fic answers those questions and gives us a glimpse at an outsider's perspective of the Saints' mission.
I actually went and searched through my FF.net reviews to refind this story so I could share it. I read it ages ago, but it still lingers in my mind.
Author's Summary: The memory and reaction of Caitlin, the red-haired young woman in white from the courtroom scene. Her life after the BDS and how she is affected by Il Duce's touch and words.
Caitlin had been there because Yakavetta had caused the death of her mother, years ago. She had debated whether or not to go to the trial, but in the end had wanted to see his face. She knew it probably wasn’t a very Christian emotion, but all of God’s teachings had yet to heal her wounds.
