Why this must be read:
If any episode needed a slashy epilogue, it was Nowhere Affair.

Napoleon is captured by Thrush, but swallows a drug that induces amnesia so Thrush can't get any info out of him. The baddies hit upon a plan to revive his memories: stimulate his libido by throwing a beautiful blonde scientist named Mara at him. (Don't ask me the reasoning behind this; I think it's an excuse for some gratuitous necking myself.) Napoleon promptly falls in love and they both engage in several steamy fade-to-black lovemaking scenes. Meanwhile, Illya does *all* the work hunting Napoleon down while wearing tight jeans and leather cowboy boots. He rescues Napoleon; Napoleon regains his memory and slaps Mara; Mara then proves her love by betraying her Thrush boss. Mara is given a chance at redemption provided she takes lots of amnesia drug. She swallows the pills, forgets her evil past, but still remembers her love for Napoleon. Awwwww. All hail the power of pharmaceuticals to cleanse a guilty conscience!

Needless to say, it's a slasher's worse nightmare.

Thank goodness for this story. It starts off where the ep leaves off. Napoleon is fondly watching Mara go through rehab; Illya is busy working, and doing his damndest to be pleased for the happy couple. Napoleon is troubled by Illya's distant behaviour, and tries to re-establish their close friendship. However, Mara senses that Illya represents a serious threat and decides to confront Illya herself...

Please don't be put off by the alternating first person point-of-view. The narrative is easy to follow, with clear references provided so readers can identify who is speaking. It's an engrossing and satisfying depiction of a love triangle in which *all* the characters remains sympathetic and likeable.
