Why this must be read:

I want to rec this short fic because it's one of the rare fics that deal with Sai being a ghost and what it is like, and also because it makes me want to cry for Sai ;____; This is a very touching and melancholic fic, and the interaction between Sai and Hikaru is simply lovely! I love how the fic captures how out of place Sai feels in modern Japan, how some things still haunt him, and how important go is to him.

He blinked, and realized Hikaru was watching him. "...Yes?"

"Geez! You could at least try not to space out on me until after I'm asleep." Hikaru flopped on his back, ignoring Sai's protest, and let out a put-upon sigh. "What do you do when I'm sleeping, anyway? You just sit there, like-"

"-I'm playing a game," Sai finished. He closed his fan with a satisfying snap. "Most of the time I think about Go."
