A Quiet Insanity by VaderLVR64 (General)

Hi, my name is pronker and I'll be piloting the Star Wars transport for September. Of these stories from both trilogies and the EU, quite a few center around the Master/Padawan relationship to honor The Clone Wars, a movie presented in August 2008 to Lucas' eager audiences of all ages. The Clone Wars introduced a new character in canon, Ahsoka Tano, the Togrutan Padawan to newly-Knighted Anakin Skywalker. Yes, Anakin has a Padawan and is exploring the trials and rewards of training a Jedi in the way that she should go. It is similar to parenting, and yet not.

But on to the first story, which returns to the first Master/Padawan relationship that we see in Star Wars: Master Qui-Gon Jinn to Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi. This fic illustrates the difficulty of mastering the old adage about disciplining those younglings in your care: "Never strike your charge in anger."

Why this must be read:

This story builds on a Poe-like atmosphere of claustrophic insanity, hence the title. VaderLVR64 responded to a tense challenge and came up with a smothered vignette. So many fics play on Qui-Gon's intensity and obtuseness, and VaderLVR64 has captured his qualities in some fifteen paragraphs of terse, effective words. All I see when I go to the Quiet Insanity link you have is a discussion. VaderLVR64 has one entry and it has something to do with minor characters.

Sure, here is the TFN layout: it's a juried site and there are lots of comments ongoing. The challenge on that page had two entries and the one by VaderLVR64 is approximately halfway down the page on IE and Firefox. The title is boldened to the left and the first sentence begins: "He had always known that Obi-Wan was meant to be his padawan." Hope this works for you.

Thanks for posting this. I'm always on te look out for new Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan stories and I still haven't really exployed the boards and places like fanfic. net. These recs make it so much easier.
