Why this must be read: This is a lovely Simon POV fic; it's short, but oh so worth it. Mal gets injured on a job again, and this time it pisses Simon off more than usual.
I've always felt that Simon gets shafted in Firefly fic a lot. He's the one that's always feminized or has to be rescued like a damsel in distress. So it's nice to see him get really irritated and pissy, even while he's trying to take care of Mal, who isn't helping.
