The Ease of Long Practice by simple__man (G)

Why this must be read: This is so perfect and so funny, which is not at all what you’d usually expect for a story that takes place at House’s funeral. I love all the shifts in Wilson's observations during this. He moves from sorrow to irritation, hilarity and musing, and then there's a wonderful uplift at the end. It's so profoundly sad that he's lost House, lost the other half of himself, and so very true to House's indomitable spirit that he'd do what House asked.

Excerpt:

A personal insight into the ravings of a madman, if you will. This will be the title of House’s biography, Wilson thinks, if he ever manages to find a free second between oncology, matrimony, and infidelity to write it.
