Why this must be read: The number of fics about Henry Dobson, aka “Scooter” and “Ridiculous Old Fraud,” can about be counted on one hand with fingers left over. I loved his sheer canniness in pulling off the ruse of posing as a doctor to compete for a fellowship spot with House in Season Four. This story expands on that and gives us a wonderfully inventive look at Henry’s personal history and how it intersects with House and Wilson's past.

When House held him back after culling the applicants to ten, Henry had a feeling his streak was coming to an end. House had been suspicious when he'd let 13 do the trans echo, and a suspicious House was a danger to anyone keeping a secret.
He was too old to play Man Friday to an egomaniacal lunatic, but now that his secret was out, he could sit back and enjoy the ride while it lasted.
