Why this must be read: I really wanted to rec “Humpback” with “A Brief Corruption,” byalinewrites , but I couldn’t stretch the rules of the comm to include it…after all, they aren’t by the same author, aren’t in the same series – hell, they aren’t about the same thing at all. But this story was written in response to Aline’s fic, and I think you’ll agree that it’s the perfect companion piece, setting the qualities of the first story into relief by contrast – dreamy, mystical and hopeful where “A Brief Corruption” is brutal, lusty and bitter. Also, this is one of the most unusual reincarnations for our boyz that I’ve ever read…
He sang of the past, the present and the future, all at once. Ocean and sky and land. Flying and swimming and running. Love and trust, betrayal and hate, forgiveness and guilt. It all blended into his voice, deep and eternal, pushing out into the endless waves, seeking.
