Why this must be read:Post Third Season. "Brian and Justin have broken up yet again." Brian never will say the words... but then again, he doesn't need to.
Encountering this story after the recent post ineolianbeck's journal on "love in the B/J relationship", I was able to appreciate more clearly its nuances and layers of shading. This is a most excellent example of our Fandom. Tink's images are gorgeous, and her take on the Brian and Justin relationship, even during its hiatus, is spot-on.
Michael makes an appearance, but not as the over-done "he's my best friend!" Mikey. I can just see him grinning at Brian, and nodding his head.
"Justin watches Brian carefully and has the fleeting thought that this is what angels have always looked like to him. Not fair, apple-cheeked cherubim with harps and halos and bouncy ringlets, but this instead: dark and threatening with knowing eyes, brandishing swords and shields, and tattered wings that leave trails of feathers. Brian is an angel in this moment that Justin watches him, and that thought is gone as quickly as it comes."
