Why this must be read:
Author's Summary:How do you stop the apocalypse when the rules keep changing?
The battle lines are clearly drawn for the Connors (and the Reeses) of the world. But what about everyone else. If you knew the end of the world was coming, what would you do?
This is a James Ellison fic that explores the man behind the badge. It's been a bit Jossed by season 2, but not so much that the fic is irrelevant by any stretch of the imagination.
For as long as he can remember, James has been following the Connors. Only more recently has he been actively engaged in the race against the apocalypse. He considers this mission his calling, no longer the wild goose chase that kept him up at night. Encumbered by the restrictions of the FBI, he works as a free agent now, his private operation fueled by men who want to stay alive, men who don’t want to trade their family members for favors in a blighted world.
But how do you stop the apocalypse, he thinks, when the rules keep changing?
