But I Think I'll Miss This One This Year by Freesnowcone (PG for language)

Hi all!  Me again, driving the Mag 7 van again this month!  And I have a wonderful first rec, just in time - my time, anyway - for the end of the year: a Christmas story that is wicked good, just the thing for the holiday - and post holiday - recovery!

WHY THIS MUST BE READ:

Because it's awesome.  I don't know if this is her first story but it's wonderful.  The characters are as they should be, the angst balanced perfectly with humor.  While I am selflishly rec-cing this in hopes that we can encourage her to write much much more, if she writes nothing else, this is the piece to stop with as well.  It's brilliantly wickedly funny with all the emotions the holiday brings out in family and friends.  It's set inthe ATF universe and again - funny.  Really.

"Anybody need another beer?" he heard Vin call from the kitchen. While two resounding "yes"s echoed through the living room, Chris looked suspicious. "Is there any more?"

"Whole case of it right here," Vin replied, hoisting the Busch 24-pack into view.

"Jesus, Buck, y'know, I know how much you make. You can afford to buy something that doesn't taste like piss once in awhile," Chris said.

"Yeah, but you're gonna drink it anyway."

"Yeah," Chris agreed amiably and propped his feet up on the coffee table.

"Beer, Ez?" Vin asked.

Ezra sighed. "Perhaps, but in name only," he replied, although the joke was half-hearted.

Vin blinked and then snorted as it sunk in.

Go, read, happy new year!
