Shadows in Starlight by Vathara (PG-13)
Fandom: STAR WARS/RUROUNI KENSHIN
Pairing: none
Length: 136,199 words
Author on LJ: unknown
Author Website: FF.net Author Page
Why this must be read:
Because this is the BEST CROSSOVER EVER! I know the two 'verses seem like they couldn't possibly work together, but Vathara did it. She didn't just maintain the integrity of both canons, by adding them together the way she did she made both of them stronger. RK-verse works amazingly well as its own planet in a GFFA. And a little samurai philosophy does wonders to flesh out (not rewrite) force user philosophy.
Obi-wan doesn't die on the Death Star, needs a place to recover from the battle, and ends up on a little planet that bears a remarkable resemblance to feudal Japan. Then there's action and intrigue, drama and comedy, all kinds of good stuff about family and honor, as well as some interesting musings on the nature of good and evil vs light and dark.
