Why this must be read:

I kick off this month of reccing with the story that was written for me in this year's Popslash SeSa, Make The Yuletide Gay, for it is wonderful.

It's a reunion story, but not an instant-happiness story in which everything is sparkly and easy and smooth. It's like herding cats, Lance thinks. In fact, it's not absolutely clear whether it's really going to work at all. And meanwhile the guys go off to a bar for some fun, and some of Backstreet are there... it's not that simple, of course. But this is a fun, sexy, intelligent story that's written in a very grown-up way. A great read.


"You're about ready to strangle them, aren't you?" Nick says.

"Not all of them, but yeah," Lance admits.

"Don't do it," Nick advises him gravely. "It's hard to find replacements."

"Really?" Lance asks. "I thought it might drum up some publicity."

"Well, in that case, Nick spreads his hands and leans back, "Go for it. Try to make it mysterious, though. It'll last longer that way."

"Locked room? Alarm system on?" Lance suggests.

"And a single sneaker at the scene of the crime." Nick nods. "Sounds about right."
