Between by Ariana Lussier - NC 17
Fandom: The Sentinel
Pairing: Jim/Blair
Author on LJ: unknown
Author Website: http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Coffeehouse/8590/sAriSlash.html
Why this must be read:
This one is an AU with Jim as a cop, who had to leave the force and is now desperately looking for a job to make a living, and Blair as a profiler, who is stalked by a killer. They learn to know each other when Naomi, who plays a prominent role in this story, looks for a bodyguard for her son.
Guess who gets the job.
Usually I'm not this big a fan of AUs because a lot of stories use the term AU simply as an excuse to twist and abuse the characters into something that is not recognizable anymore. In my opinion, it's a real art to write an AU, let the characters adapt to the new universe/reality and at the same time still write them as the guys with the character-traits we know. It's difficult to do and often the AU-guys have nothing more in common with Jim and Blair than the names.
But I really like this one because it didn't fall into this trap.
BTW, Ariana's stories are not at the 852 Prospect arive. If you try to use the links on Ariana's site you'll get an error-message. In this case simply put a "s" in the URL, directly in front of the story-name, hit refresh and the story will come up.

Unfortunately, this author seems to have dropped off the face of the earth and with so many pseude's that she's used, tracking her down seems nigh on impossible.
