Why this must be read: Five brief character sketches of Scully through Season 8. Each one is perfect and totally in character and even the happy part is tinged with a sadness that is not overwhelmingly dripping with angst, but a more subtle anguish. Beautiful fic!

She's no longer the sane, rational one. She listens to the ideas and speculations as they tumble from her lips and can hardly believe she's the one saying them. She sometimes finds her brain automatically forming arguments to her own theories.
