“Like I’d pull a punch because she’s a woman,” Power Girl said with an indignant flare in her eyes.

“I’ve been beside you in battle Karen; pulling punches is something I don’t ever think I’ll see you do,” Pieter confirmed.

“I don’t see what’s wrong with that Doc,” Ma heard Karen fire back.

Pieter smiled and inclined his head. “Didn’t say there was.”

Yep, that seemed to be going just fine for the both of them. Beside the pair Alan and Michael talked about an upcoming fundraiser for the widows of police officers. Those two never seemed to stop. Ma didn’t think Michael knew how and she knew Alan took it upon himself to provide a stalwart model for the younger members. Honestly, she couldn’t remember when the man had last taken some time for himself. She’d have to look into that.
