Why this must be read: I love Stephen Warren. Though he's only in one episode (like most LoM villains), he is my absolute favorite. His episode (1.04, no official names for LoM episodes, unfortunately), is a significant turning point in Sam and Gene's (canon) relationship and one that establishes just what kind of coppers Sam and Gene are. So, I'm immediately drawn to any fic that involves Stephen Warren and his potential retaliation against Sam - the only police officer unafraid to bring him down.
I love 36 Hours becauset_eyla makes Sam's torture and PTSD believable and utterly compelling. It shows what could have been the consequences of Sam standing up to Warren, while still leaving us a glimmer of hope at the end.
The author warns for violence and rape.
