How about two reasons:

It's Brackett; yawn.

Blair gets taken hostage; yawn.

In general, while I've enjoyed Cara's writing in other fandoms, her Jim and Blair never found a voice for me; they always read generic.

Blair gets taken hostage... well, yes, but I still like the twist how it turns out and Cara's Jim and Blair work for me. Guess with authors and their stories it's always a matter of personal taste.

That's very true.

What I find interesting (and odd) is that I do love the majority of her TPM fiction so I was actually prepared to like her in Sentinel, but sadly that didn't happen.

So, why don't you sign up for another month an tell us which TS-stories you find outstanding enough to recomment? :-) One can't get enough recs and diversity is a good thing.

I'm fond of Brackett, myself, and thought he had a lot of potential as a villain (more than he had in Rogue, anyway.) This story has always amused me for its sheer scope and for the premise of Blair staying one step ahead of Jim in the chase.

Yes. *g* I would have liked to see Brackett coming back after them on TV. *g*

And I *still* find "I'll take the wire in your pants. Unless you want me to have Mr. Sandburg get it out for you." an very odd remark. *g*
