Why this must be read: Like I said, I love "five things" fics. :) This was written during Season One, I believe, but it's not particularly S1-specific and all of the stories could take place currently. Part of what's so great about this fic is how in-character everyone is: Noah, Micah, Sylar himself, Peter ... they're all marvelously fleshed-out in a relatively short period of time. Not only that, it's inventive: each story is so different, and the details of each situation really stand out.


Between the shunt, and the dampers, and... a few other little tricks of the trade, Sylar's going nowhere. Claire is out of his grasp, and Noah takes a sharp-toothed kind of pleasure in testing him.

The others, he found interesting. He didn't mind making conversation with Parkman, helping Isaac find his way out of addiction was a highlight (he ignores sending him back into it; some things are merely necessary.)

But Sylar uncapped Jackie like a jar of pickles- Noah never really liked the girl, thought she was a negative influence in Claire's life, so he won't particularly miss her- but unforgivably, Sylar thought it was Claire when he was doing it. Then immediately tried to rectify his error.

That was a mistake.
