This is, without exaggeration, the best fic ever to come out of Cable/Deadpool fandom. A full and wonderfully accurate pastiche of the delightfully insane style of Fabian Nicieza's late, lamented comic, this fic perfectly captures what was so great about that universe, and those characters. It breaks the fourth wall. It includes a Weasel cameo. It's meta and hilarious and, in its own strange way, it thoughtfully illuminates the characters. Plus, it shines a spotlight on Irene and Domino, the oft-forgotten awesome female backbone of the story. It is also probably the only femslash in existence that is narrated by Deadpool.

In order to truly give justice to this fic, I'd probably have to write this recommendation in-character as Deadpool, and I don't possess

likeadeuce's gifts in that department. So I'm just going to include an excerpt, which speaks for itself.

DEADPOOL: Wade Wilson here, the Merc with the Mouth, known worldwide -- and in all thirty-seven states -- as Deadpool. (Okay, nearly all thirty-seven. For your information, Indiana, I'm not returning your phone calls either).

Before you get too excited, ladies, I'll let you down easy: I'm not in this issue. And do you want to know why? Because it's not an issue! It's a FANFICTION! That's right, fangirls, take your hands away from your ladyparts and your eyes off your Hugh Jackman bobble-head dolls long enough to look back up where it says "Disclaimer." These characters are not mine, and I am making no money from this. Well, Wade Wilson is many things but he is not a whore!. He doesn't do the work if he can't cash the checks!
