Why this must be read:
In this one of my two favorite alternate ends for season 7 (which I admit to not being all that thrilled by), Vic does a lot with a little. It's a simple scene - at the end of things, Xander and Dawn leave Sunnydale - but packed in are all the little memento mori - both physical and emotional - of everyone who's not going with them.
It's a little sad, a touch of bleak, and a little hopeful.
