Why this must be read: Stories by DaraLynn are personal favorites of mine not only because she and I have a long rich history of friendship, but her tales of angst are often full of emotions and heart like those of the Any Path Series. The first story, Any Path, is a BSB fic, whereas No Painless Way and Chosen Path are 'Nsyncfics.  It's not imperative to read all fics in this series, but she's a great writer, so why not? My personal favorite fic of the trilogy is No Painless Way because of the intense plotline.

Any Path
     "Are you comfortable, Mr. Littrell?"
Brian shifted slightly in the soft chair and smiled weakly. "Yeah. I
thought I was gonna have to lie down on a couch."
Dr. Lawrence Gorman laughed softly. He was 42, and though he seemed
business-like in his neat gray suit, his eyes were kind and his face
sympathetic. His patients often remarked how easy it is to talk to him.

No Painless Way

"Justin? Curly, time to wake up."

"Mmmmm..." The young blond mumbled something unintelligible at his bandmate, and tried to burrow deeper into the pillows.

Joshua Scott Chasez, known to most as J.C., shook his head with exasperation. He was smiling, in spite of himself, down at his motionless friend; Justin meant the world to J.C. and he had a hard time getting angry at him. The best the older man could manage was a slight frustration, and it only took a look at Justin's sweet smile to break it.

Chosen Path

"Amazing."

"What's so amazing about it?"

"Well, look at it. It's existential, or something."

"What?"

"It's a metaphor for life. It represents beginnings, undiscovered treasures, hopes for growth, the promise of change. It's a symbol of our true selves when we're still waiting to become whole. It's art."
