Things You Cannot Undo by EK (PG-13)
Alrighty, folks. This is gonna be my last one for the month. Thanks for having me again, and I hope to do this again soon. :)
Fandom: SMALLVILLE
Pairing: Chloe/Clark
Length: one-shot
Author on LJ:
eklipsed
Author Website: none
Why this must be read:
This fic is so sad and so beautiful, and I cannot even begin to describe it. This fic takes us through the past eight seasons of the show, and shows us the true depth and purity of Chloe's devotion to Clark. And the story ends with the the ultimate show of devotion, and a silent reveal of a certain truth. The author puts everything into words so beautifully, and so perfectly, and I seriously think it's something every supporter of the Chloe/Clark pairing MUST read. A couple warnings, though: it contains slight spoilers/spec for this season's finale, and the story itself is f-locked, but joining the community to read is well worth it, if you're not already a part of it.
It’s a story that starts with devotion and ends in deception. Self-deception, deception to another and all of the kinds in between, but still she doesn’t blame him or allow him to take fault, fault for his blind eyes and over-reliance’s.
She takes blame for his and her mistakes, her weaknesses of heart, her inability to move beyond that which she could not have. And his silence lets her do this, solidifies his false innocence, which is why she makes choices that lead them here.
To this destruction.
