GOOD OMENS fandom overview redux

vulgarweed and I'll be driving the Flaming Bentley Crack Van for the Good Omens fandom in May.
GO is a comfortable-yet-sporty midsized fandom, too big to qualify for![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
yuletide but too small to make Fandom Wank very often. And for a fandom that is based on one single book that was published in 1990, it's proven to have wonderful staying power. Perhaps this is because so many of its main characters are immortal.
louiselux wrote this excellent overview way back in 2003. Most of it is still nice and accurate (except for the part about porn being rare - that's most certainly changed!) but of course there are a lot of sites and communities that have sprung up since.
Communities
lower_tadfield is still the central clearinghouse com.
crowleyraphale is pairing-centric.
stjamespark is a community for fic, art, and discussion only.
ineffably_icons is for GO icons.
go_exchange is the annual holiday gift exchange, running since the 2005 holiday season. Lots of good work in the archives here, some of it not posted anywhere else. [potential conflict of interest disclaimer: I'm a mod. I'll still be reccing stories from this. Deal.]
