Why this must be read:

This is one of my favorite examples of another popular Aziraphale/Crowley subgenre (or, rather, Aziraphale/Crawly, as he was known at the time): the Eden story. The opening lines of the book and the mythology they satirize are so fertile: the banter, the fruit, the sword, the serpent, the angel, the curiosity, the doubt, the rain, the Beginning. There is simply no way these two characters have any reason to trust each other, but they really have no one else to pass the time with. (GO is probably more responsible than any other modern book for reviving the Ophite heresy; Elaine Pagels, eat your heart out!)

Argyleheir is one of my favorite writers in this fandom because she is more subtle than all the other beasts of the field (in many ways that Crawly isn't). And in her rich, lush, way, she is fucking hilarious.
