1st stop: recruiting fandoms

Sign up here to claim your fandom for 1 month - beginning October November 2003. Sign-up sheets for subsequent volunteers will be put up when I know a fandom has representation. Posting rights will be given during your volunteer period.

Volunteers are asked to post a minimum of 1 fic per week in the following format:

Subject: Title by Author (Rating)

Fandom: YOUR FANDOM
Pairing: (no abbreviations, please)
Author on LJ: (if applicable)
Author Website: (author's fics, if available)
Why this must be read:

Emphasis should be on fics that you feel are especially outstanding and accessible examples of your fandom, e.g. it plays on a repeated theme in the show, it's a fandom or a personal favourite, it was a controversial fic, it's good smut. Whatever.

Warnings are not required beyond what the author has posted on their own stories.

Initial volunteers are also asked to post a synopsis of the characters in their fandom. Examples can be found HERE. A brief overview of all the major players with thumbnail pics (don't you hate reading porn without knowing what the guys look like?!) and links to your fandom archives.

Some fandoms are too small to warrant year-round inclusion. If that's the case, go HERE to sign up for a one-month feature!

Those are my demands. *g*

If you're still interested, I'm still up for doing popslash.

Hee! I've been so inspired by your enthusiasm over this project, Dana, that I started collecting (way too many) stories and links this morning -- and in the course of doing so have recognized a few disturbing things about my own taste in fanfic. I guess I have you and this new community to thank for my new self-realization then. ;)

This really is an excellent idea -- I'm so excited for October now! Thanks for all the hard work.
