VID REC: HARRY POTTER - High School Never Ends
Vidder: Samus McAslan
Musical artist: Bowling for Soup
Pairing: Gen - Snape-centric
Vidder on LJ: Haven't a clue.
Vidder's website: None that I know of, but there are a couple more vids on YouTube
Why this vid kicks ass:
Okay, so this song is almost too obvious a choice, but Samus McAslan does a marvelous job splicing together an amusing, fast-paced narrative set to a very bouncy tune. It's catchy as hell, and a sentiment we can all relate to, but it's so appropriate for Snape that you'll snicker even as you sympathize. The use of flashback footage from all the films, but especially Order of the Phoenix, is extremely clever. Smartly timed to the lyrics and rhythmic breaks, Alan Rickman's intercut expressions are priceless. The visual collage makes its point cheerfully, but it contains a big sodding grain of truth: Snape spent his whole bloody life dealing with the events of his adolescence and never got a chance to leave the memories of his school years behind.
