Hello! I'm your new driver for the Firefly van this month! I'm probably a little too excited about this seeing as this is my first time posting here. So, when it comes to Firefly I don't have a strong preference for any pairing. The canon supports so many possibilities. What you'll probably see this month is Simon/Mal, Mal/Inara, and Kaylee/Simon, with some Gen thrown in for good measure. So, without further ado, my first rec! :D

Why this must be read:  I've always been intrigued by the background of Shepherd Book.  This story is a beautiful character study that looks into Books background showing us what his previous profession was and why he left.  It's subtle and haunting, especially the section that takes place on Serenity.
