Returning to the Scene reintroduces Renee Montoya, one of the leading characters in Gotham Central, to her former colleagues of Gotham Central. For those who haven't had a chance to read the short-lived Gotham Central title, the book focused on the police officers serving Gotham City amidst the crime and corruption. This pitch-perfect fic is set after the year-long 52 series when Renee has left Gotham and become the new Question. likeadeuce writes the reunion in Gotham with great affection for these characters, and it's a delight to see the gang back together if only for one moment.

Thank you so much! I am really glad you found this fic and enjoyed it. I never did nearly enough with these characters and universe as I wanted to, so it makes me happy that someone enjoyed what I did do with it.

ETA: Hah, I'm so wrong. In the context, I saw that and thought it was the Question, then I made out the mask and looked closer at the art style and realized it's the Spirit. Nonetheless. Still awesome!

It was my pleasure! Can't remember where I found your fic, but had it mem'd especially for rec'ing the first time I was driving the van. Unfortunately it didn't make the cut in Feb, and was glad to do so this time.

Icon <3 back at you! And don't worry, most do at first think it's the Question in my icon. I didn't when I picked it out, not cos I'm special or anything -- I just think every suit, fedora, and mask-wearing hero is the Spirit :P
