Dork by Miriam Heddy and Francesca (R)

Fandom: THE SENTINEL
Pairing: Jim/Blair
Length: 8,270
Author on LJ: unknown
Author Website: Miriam Heddy's Little Corner of the Universe
Why this must be read: Because it's me being a banter freak again. Miriam Heddy does it for me in every fandom of mine she writes in. She nails the characters, their speech patterns, their quirks.. and it's all so damn funny and HOT at times. Plus, she's co-writing with the mighty Francesca here, so you just *know* it’s going to be good. In this one, Sandburg turns up at Jim's desk one day with different glasses, a silver pen in his pocket, and most importantly and weirdly of all for Jim, a haircut...

"So, what happened with the hair?" Jim asked, tossing the menu down onto the rough wooden table.

Sandburg raised his eyebrow. "What, literally?"

"No, not literally," Jim snorted. "I know what happened literally."

"Literally," Sandburg continued, ignoring this declaration, "it's in a box." He sat back in his chair and waited expectantly.

Jim blinked; okay, so maybe he didn't know what happened literally. "In a box?"

Sandburg nodded and there was something missing. His hair. His hair used to nod right along with him and now it just... didn't. Wasn't.

"Yep. At the post office," Blair clarified, breaking into a smile.

Really, the title alone is enough to make me happy. And attached to such a fabulous fic? Perfect. Thank you!

I read Dork awhile back at Francesca's site. I'm more familiar with her than Miriam, although I'd forgotten that I read and liked "The Charm". Thanks for pointing out her stories.

It's been a great month here so far!
